We believe the first step toward “Investing that Makes the World Rejoice®” is to avoid investments that make the world suffer. This requires careful screening out of harmful products and practices.
While our internal Business 360® research process screens for a much wider set of issues, the five most commonly-screened concerns for faith-based investors are abortion, alcohol, gambling, pornography, and tobacco. These are the five issues we have included in the new Good Investor Screening Tool.
In addition to helping users identify portfolio exposure to these areas, we have also created five in-depth research reports with evidence on how these industries profit from exploitation, addiction, or suffering.
The first report, “Alcohol: Refusing to Profit from Misery,” is available now here. As we continue to release the reports over the next several weeks, our hope is that investors will more deeply understand the real-life human and societal harm caused by certain investments—and feel compelled to embrace investments that bring true value to the world.
The second new tool is designed to help investors take this next step toward pursuing good investments.
In the Good Investor Find an Advisor Tool, users can enter their location to identify a nearby advisor who offers faith-based investing. All results are Certified Kingdom Advisors® who have received training from the Eventide Center for Faith & Investing, helping users find experienced advisors equipped to pursue morally good investments.
We believe that investing should bless the world. By avoiding sources of bad profit and embracing sources of good profit, you can experience Investing that Makes the World Rejoice®.
